Things are going great here in Tennessee. My new job is demanding in a way I've never before experienced, but I think that so far, I'm liking what I do a lot. I know as long as I work hard, learn A LOT and stay determined, then I will grow to love what I do. I am a tutor for kids whose parents work in agriculture (farms, nurseries, fields, etc...) and are migrant (they move a lot - to qualify they must have lived where they are for less then 3 years). I love the idea of the program, and I love working with kids. The majority of those I am assigned to are families whose native language is Spanish - I recently have been given another area where (I am told) there are some whose first language is English. The idea of what I do isn't to be a homework help or to take away the parents responsibilities of reading with and teaching their child. My goal is to help the children understand the concepts they need to for the grade they are in school. Our goal is to make it fun, so the children think they're playing games and watching magic tricks, not learning about science. I SOOO want to master these technics I am learning. Everything I've heard so far is wonderful. I want so badly to be more then adequate for the position and am striving to fulfill this goal.
As far as matters of losing weight. As of this morning, I weigh 238.8 lbs. This is about 7 lbs down in 5 days! Yay. I'm doing good. Today I was 100% no cheating. It feels good to be gaining the power to eat different from those around me and to deny food offered when I know I can't eat it. :) I love it. I'll give you another update soon!
Thanks for reading!
You comment, I'll respond. It's a promise.
